We live in the 21st century. Obviously, a modern author can’t stick to a single medium. That would be crazy. After nearly a year in production, I, Louise Rainey, am proud to announce the arrival of my podcast.
CRACK BETWEEN WORLDS is a weekly fantasy/science fiction podcast from a pocket universe that exists inside a tear in time and space.
The CBW News team travels across the multiverse and through the time stream, thanks to the sparkly lead reporter top hat, to witness history and conduct on the scene interviews during meaningful, tragic, and exciting events. Reporters of the CBW Channel know there are a hundred billion worlds scattered across millions of universes. Add time into the equation, and there is no end to the stories they can cover, from zombie cheerleaders to man-eating stick bugs among purple trees, and the unplanned pregnancy rate at Windlemere War College to the tragic Yuletide Massacre. They also take time to talk about our sponsors, like weight loss aid: Peeper’s Peanuts, the snack that judges you while you eat.
The first season follows lead reporter Mito’ca’hondria, Powerhoose of Cellaria, who received her promotion shortly after the tragic loss of Dr. Ravenwood. Together with Dolly and Rookie Reporter Rob Skythrust, the team quickly amasses a reputation for bumbling incompetence and staggering misfortune.
You already know who I am, so allow me to introduce you to the other minds behind this podcast.
Dane Farren is an upcoming author set to debut in early 2026. She voices Dolly and handles most of the production aspects. If you check out the podcast website www.crackbetweenworlds.com you’ll see exactly why we call her a tech wiz. When she isn’t writing epic fantasy and romantasy, she can usually be found listening to audiobooks while building chicken coops, cabinets, or whatever DIY project tickles her fancy.
Marvin the Mystery Man wishes to remain anonymous. As a voice actor, he brings a unique flair to each of his characters. When he isn’t working on the podcast, Marvin is usually proselytizing the wonders of disco music. While disco has its critics, Marvin dares any naysayer to listen to Upside Down by Diana Ross. If you can disparage that masterpiece with a straight face, he will acknowledge your criticism.
We are all very excited to launch the Crack Between Worlds. You can find it on most podcast streaming platforms, including Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, IHeart Radio. Check it out and let us know what you think!
Author: Louise Rainey

Louise Rainey is an author and apocalypse enthusiast. Although she primarily writes in the fantasy and science fiction genres, she’s been preparing for a myriad of untimely disasters since childhood. It’s possible she might’ve read a few too many survivalist books at an impressionable age. Regardless, she’s ready to rock n’ roll at the first sign of zombies, and a Yellowstone eruption will never take her by surprise. When she’s not preparing for the demise of her Texas home, she’s baking, listening to the same song on repeat, or playing with her gorgeous cat, Robin and her monster-dog Percy.
Louise has a degree in psychology and neuroscience and an unofficial doctorate in Random Ridiculous Knowledge. As a child, she won several writing contests, and she’s been trying to top her blue ribbon at the state fair ever since. Her latest published books include Benevolent Keepers and The Frog Eater.
